The holiday season is quickly approaching us! This time of year is full of laughter, joy, and quality time with our loved ones where we get together and enjoy a good meal. This Thanksgiving, let’s challenge ourselves by being mindful of healthier options for our Thanksgiving dinner.
To begin.. Majority of us LOVE a Thanksgiving meal, and it might be hard to say no to your favorite dishes, so an alternative to be mindful of is portion sizes. Therefore, you can still enjoy your meal while getting the appropriate amount of calories!
Next: When cooking try substituting Vegetable oil for Canola Oil.
Canola Oil is low on saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fat that is known to improve cholesterol levels.
Other healthy oils include: Olive Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Sesame Oil these all contain lower saturated fat levels.
Lastly, incorporate more fruits and veggies in your dishes!
Get heavy handed with the side salads and the fruit salads to ensure you are receiving all the nutrients your body needs!
